Congratulations to our Dragons of the Week (Aug. 31- Sept. 4)!
Our 5th graders put their scientific skills (and taste buds!) to the test today as they tackled the age-old question: How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? Using the scientific method, our budding scientists made predictions, recorded data, and had a blast experimenting together. Who knew learning could be so sweet?

Our kindergarten students are busy building their writing superpowers! They have practiced a variety of strokes and shapesāfirst in the air, then on paperāusing spatial words like āup,ā ādown,ā āacross,ā and ānext to.ā
With small crayons and a tripod grip, little hands are getting stronger with every mark. We even tuned our ears by listening for environmental sounds, connecting spoken words to writing!
Learning to write is a big adventure, and our young learners are off to a fantastic start!

Our kindergarteners took a sunny stroll to Conover Park last week! They explored the park searching for signs of summerāfrom bright flowers and flying birds to the light, colorful clothes everyone was wearing. This is just the beginning of our seasonal adventures! We canāt wait to return each season and discover how the plants, animals, and even our outfits change with the weather.

Congratulations to our Dragons of the Week (August 24-28)!
Walk and Roll Challenge

Ms. Harper's students took on the "Save Sam" challengeāusing only a paperclip, cup, peach ring, and gummy worm (no hands allowed!). It was amazing to see everyone working together, problem solving, and encouraging each other every step of the way. Their collaboration and perseverance were truly inspiring. Way to go, Sage Creek stars!

Please join us for the PTA Meeting on Monday, August 24 at 9:20!

Jinyue (Amber) Li is our new 1st grade Chinese teacher. Born and raised in China, she completed her first Masterās degree in Applied Linguistics in Beijing before moving to Utah, where she earned a second Masterās degree in Second Language Teaching from Brigham Young University. In addition to her academic training, she holds a Utah Professional Educator License with Chinese and Dual Language Immersion (DLI) endorsements. Jinyue has taught Mandarin to children in both Utah and the United Kingdom, and she firmly believes the early years are the most magical time to pick up a new language. She is so excited to meet her 1st graders and kick off this bilingual adventure together. We are so excited to have her at Sage Creek Elementary!
Ms. Hartung visited Yellowstone with her family, making more summer memories in the great outdoors!
